EFD ECO BUSINESS PARK project located at East Dagon Township in the outskirt Yangon, by the junction of Highway No. 2 and Highway No. 7. The project has a total site area of 550 acres, comprises of light industrial park, commercial and residential space and is expected to be completed within 5 years.

Breaking new ground

FORTUNE PLAZA Project including Myanmar Expo was completed in the first quarter of 2018. The entire project site occupies a land area of 16 acres with retail, commercial and one of the largest and international standard exhibition and convention center in Myanmar.

Contributing to Society

In 2016, Mr. Sai Myo Win, Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of EFD GROUP decided to set up a national level foundation as EXCELLENT FORTUNE FOUNDATION ( EFF FOUNDATION ) in order to effectively and efficiently contribute to the social welfare and charitable works.

EFF Foundation provides financial support and contributes to areas such as social welfare, health care, education, rural development, natural disaster prevention, disaster relief and reconstruction, improvement of people’s living standards and facilitating of national development.

New developments

EFD GROUP continues to develop its business through organic and inorganic growth.
In 2015, EFD GROUP partnered with Jidong Development Co., Ltd. from China and formed Myanmar Jidong Cement Co., Ltd. to co-operate the State Owned cement factory, No. 31 Heavy Industry (Thayet) with Myanmar Government and distributed cement with the name of HORSE HEAD CEMENT.
In addition, EFD GROUP will invest in the construction of CITY CEMENT PLANT (Pyi Nyaung) which comprises of two new dry-process cement production lines with production capacity of 6,000 metric tons per day each near Pyi Nyaung village, Tharsi Township, Meikhtila District, Mandalay Region. The cement plant, total investment of approx. USD 600 million, will be an international standard cement plant and the largest cement plant in Myanmar.
Further, EFD GROUP developed the FORTUNE PLAZA project which included Myanmar Expo as its real estate development project at the corner of Min Nandar Road and Thumana Street in Tharkayta Township, Yangon Region.

Entry into Insurance Sector

Myanmar government reopened and permitted the private sector to operate insurance businesses in Myanmar. EFD GROUP got the chances to contribute to the social and economic development of the country and was awarded the life and general insurance licenses with EXCELLENT FORTUNE INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED, one of the 8 private enterprises that was able to run private insurance licenses.

Founding of EFD GROUP

In 2012, Mr. Sai Myo Win, Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of EFD GROUP and his wife Mdm. Nan Khin Myint Yee, Co-Founder & Vice Chairman of EFD GROUP decided to consolidate and integrate their business interests and various investment portfolios into a group holding structure so as to better control and manage its diverse and growing business. Henceforth, EXCELLENT FORTUNE DEVELOPMENT GROUP Co. Ltd is successfully founded.

Investment in forestry

In 2006, Myanmar Government approved private companies to start Teak Plantation. With the success in his earlier investment, Mr. Sai Myo Win, Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of EFD GROUP decided to further diversify his business into agriculture and forestry sector in 2006 and invested a large scale teak plantation which is the most successful and largest private teak plantation in Myanmar.

Challenges & New ventures

In 2003, Mr. Sai Myo Win, Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of EFD GROUP saw the opportunity to start diversifying his business and decided to set up locally assembled automobile assembly and manufacturing facility. During that time, he became one of the most successful young businessman who led the largest automobile parts manufacturing and assembling in Myanmar.

In the beginning

Following the regulation by Myanmar Government to allow the setting up of private company in 1989 with the purpose of strengthening the private sector development in Myanmar, Mr. Sai Myo Win, Founder, Chairman & Group CEO of EFD GROUP decided to set up JADE GEMS AND JEWELLERY COMPANY LIMITED as his very first company in 1992. He is keen to demonstrate his entrepreneurship, apply his extensive experiences gained throughout his life and leveraged on his family resources and network in jade industries.
